Studio 38 is based in Southport, Merseyside. Founded by Sharon Ashton, professional singer; qualified performing arts teacher and BBC TV Judge 11 years ago as a way of passing on her wealth of knowledge to the next aspiring performers. Originally known as The Talent Factory and running classes from a church hall Sharon knew she would eventually grow and require a place of her own.
Sharon knew what she was offering in the way of live productions; industry relevant lessons; qualifications through LAMDA; LCM; IDTA an Trinity were receiving great feedback and 100% pass rate and felt it was time to put the training she and her team were offering firmly on the map.
The change of name has come about because we want to be know as a performing arts training centre for everyone not just children as is sadly all too often the perception. The change of name to STUDIO 38 is bold and memorable.
If you are interested in performing arts whether it be for a hobby or to pursue a career then we are the place for you. We offer lessons for children from 2 to 17 in singing; ballet; drama; tap; contemporary; musical theatre; jazz; street dance; music technology; yoga; TV and Film.

Sharon Ashton's professional career as a singer and performer has taken her all over the world with nearly 5500 live performances and 11 recorded albums under her belt. Naomi has been dancing and performing from 4 years old and even at this tender age was determined to become a Professional Dancer. She completed her training in Dance and Musical Theatre at a Liverpool Performing Arts College where she also gained ISTD dance teaching qualifications in ballet, modern jazz, tap and various dance styles, Level 5 performance qualifications in Musical Theatre and is an Affiliate teaching member of IDTA. She is a triple threat as she sings as well as she acts and has gained her Gold medal in Acting which put her in high demand as a dancer. But her first love is dance and Naomi has always loved teaching and balances teaching children and adults in between her professional contracts.
In her professional career Naomi has travelled around the world to South Africa, Italy and Croatia in touring shows and musicals productions. As a performer she not only had the opportunity to tour the world but the chance to live for some time in Greece performing in international variety entertainment productions and then later on board Cruise Ships which saw her seeing parts of the Meditaranean and Adriatic Seas and the wonders of the Indian, Atlantic and Southern Oceans.
At the age of 21 she landed her dream job as a Showgirl at La Nouvelle Eve Cabaret in Paris where she spent the best part of three years performing in two shows a night ending each performance with the infamous CAN CAN!
Naomi continues to work professionally as a performer. However, focusing the majority of her time now on teaching, sharing her passion for performance and dance with her students whilst working them towards great technique and ability.
She continues to further her knowledge and qualifications having recently completed her FitBop Instructor training and kids yoga instructor, Naomi is now working towards further Yoga Instructor qualifications. Aspiring to use these to encourage students of all ages into Studio 38 as she is a strong believer that dance, performance and exercise are key to a happy, healthy wellbeing.
